Our goal is to help teens and young adults who have been through the foster care system or another out of home placement to learn and develop the skills they need to live successfully and independently.

Our program works to guide youth in their day to day decisions and empower their confidence to make positive choices. The services we provide are individualized based on the unique strengths and needs of the youth.

At Lycoming Children & Youth Independent Living Program, we believe that all youth deserve the love and support of a family connection. 

We assist youth in identifying themselves, 

understanding where they come from, 

discovering appropriate resources, 

and fostering important permanent connections which are important to a successful adulthood.

Eligibility

  • We serve youth from ages 14-23. 

  • Youth must have stayed in an out of home placement through Children and Youth Services or Juvenile Probation placement sometime during the age of 14- 23 years.

We Assist Youth With The Following:

  • Employment 

  • Budgeting and money management

  • Finding community supports

  • Communication skills

  • Drug and alcohol services

  • Mental health services

  • Trauma and abuse 

  • Health and wellness

  • Nutrition 

  • Building a support network

  • Family planning

  • Teen pregnancy

  • Parenting education 

  • Anger management 

  • Hygiene 

  • Organization skills

  • Identifying lifelong connections
